Itinerary

  • OPA!!! Welcome to Greece! Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, your private transfer will take you to your hotel in the city center. In the afternoon, enjoy a delightful culinary experience that introduces you to Greek wines and local specialties, followed by a meze-style dinner. Once our bellies are full, we will have the rest of the evening free to relax and catch up on some well needed rest.

  • In the morning, take a fast ferry to Naxos, where a private transfer will take you to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy some free time to relax or explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, take part in a shared hands-on cooking experience, where you’ll prepare and savor traditional recipes using fresh local ingredients. Guided by an experienced cook, you’ll not only learn culinary secrets but also gain insight into the island’s traditions. The experience concludes with a lively gathering, enjoying the dishes you’ve prepared, accompanied by local wine and traditional music. 

  • Put on your swimsuits because today we set sail from Naxos Marina for a day of exploration, relaxation, and crystal-clear waters on a shared Catamaran cruise. Discover secluded beaches and hidden coves, with stops for swimming and snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment is provided for your enjoyment. Midday, savor a freshly prepared traditional lunch on board, made with local ingredients and accompanied by refreshing drinks, beer, wine, and raki. In the afternoon, we sail back to Naxos, bringing an unforgettable day at sea to a close. 

    This evening will be at leisure.

  • This morning, we take the ferry to Paros.

    In the late afternoon, explore Paroikia, the island’s lively capital, as you stroll through its cobblestone streets lined with traditional Cycladic houses, neoclassical mansions, and charming boutique shops. Discover the historic old town, visit the iconic Panagia Ekatontapyliani, one of Greece’s most significant early Christian churches, and explore the medieval Kastro, an extraordinary structure built with repurposed ancient marble, offering breathtaking views over Paroikia Bay. As the sun begins to set, indulge in a seaside dinner at a family-run restaurant, where you’ll savor authentic Parian flavors prepared with fresh ingredients from the restaurant’s own garden and local producers, all while enjoying a spectacular sunset over the Aegean. After dinner, return to your accommodation. 

  • After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing beach day at your own pace with a private vehicle at your disposal. Paros is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the Cyclades, offering a mix of golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant beach clubs or secluded coves for a more tranquil escape. Whether you prefer a lively atmosphere with sunbeds and cocktails or a quiet spot to unwind by the sea, the choice is yours. Take in the warm Aegean sun, swim in the refreshing waters, and savor the laid-back island vibe. At the end of the day, return to your accommodation. 

  • This morning, we take the ferry to Syros, the capital of the Cyclades. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting at the port to transfer you to your hotel.

    In the Afternoon enjoy a Panoramic drive of the islands and dinner at a village overlooking the Aegean sea .

  • After breakfast, embark on a private culinary tour of Syros. Begin at a specialty grocery store to sample local delicacies and learn about the island’s gastronomic heritage. Then, visit a traditional Loukoumi workshop to discover the secrets of this famous Syros treat and enjoy a tasting. 

    Continue to the historic village of Episkopio, where a local host will welcome you with homemade liqueurs and traditional sweets. In the afternoon, a private vehicle will be at your disposal for four hours, allowing you to visit one of Syros’ beautiful beaches, soak up the sun, and enjoy the crystal-clear waters and enjoy dinner before returning to your hotel.

  • The morning is yours to explore Hermoupolis at your own pace. Wander through its elegant neoclassical streets, visit local shops and cafés, or simply soak in the unique atmosphere of this historic island town, a lunch for the group will be scheduled early afternoon.

    This afternoon, you will enjoy a visit to a local winery for a light Meze, where tradition meets modern winemaking techniques. A member of the winery team will guide you through the winemaking process, offering insights into the artistry behind Syros' renowned wines.

    Nestled among fragrant lentisks, osiers, thyme, and sage, the vineyards cultivate noble grape varieties that produce elegant rosé and white wines with a rich, fruity character.

    To enhance your experience, live music will accompany your meal, with two musicians playing the bouzouki and guitar, performing soulful rebetika melodies—an authentic taste of Greek musical heritage. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Overnight in Syros.

  • Today we say goodbye to island life and return to Athens via speed ferry.

    Afternoon and evening will be at leisure in Athens. It's your chance to buy any last minute gifts or revisit spots you noticed when we walked the streets of Athens on our food tour the first day.

  • Today we say farewell to our foodie friends. This morning's breakfast is your last chance to indulge in the local pastries at our hotel's buffet.

    There will be two scheduled transfers from our hotel to the Athens International Airport.

    While we have carefully planned and organized our itinerary, there may be circumstances beyond our control that necessitate changes to hotels or tours during the course of our trip.

    Please rest assured that should any changes occur, our priority will be to ensure that the replacement accommodations or tours are of equal or higher quality and standards.

  • Payment is required at time of booking.

    Your trip’s deposit is due at the time of booking. The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. You will receive automatic payment reminders with a payment link leading up to your Trip. This link will only allow you to pay the entire remaining balance due. To make smaller payments than remaining balance due – Please send an email to: travel@journeysbyvdb.com. Please include your Name, Trip, Dates, and Amount you wish to pay. We will run the card used at booking and send you a confirmation by email. Please allow up to 2 business days for us to process.

    Payment Schedule:

    • 20% non-refundable deposit due at time of booking

    • 50% due 120 days prior to arrival

    • 30% due 90 days prior to arrival

    If full payment is not received by the due date, your reservation may be cancelled without additional notice and deposits will be forfeited. Some supplier terms specify that there is no refund after a booking is made and paid for. Your ability to obtain a refund if you change or cancel travel plans is limited.

    CANCELLATION

    All cancellation requests must be sent in writing to travel@journeysbyvdb.com. We wants nothing more than for you to enjoy one of our trips, however, we understand emergencies do occur that may cause you to cancel your reservation. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

    The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.

    Refunds will be given as outlined below based on days prior to trip arrival and length of trip.

    • Full refund less Non-Refundable Deposit: 121+ days

    • 30% Trip Cost: 120-91 days

    • No Refund: 90 Days or less

    No exceptions will be granted to our Cancellation policy.

    *We reserve the right to cancel trips with inadequate participant attendance, in which case all money paid to Journeys by VDB will be fully refunded. Journeys by VDB CANNOT be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations.

    Can I transfer my trip?

    Journeys by VDB will transfer 100% of funds paid including the Non-Refundable deposit if transfer is made outside of our cancellation policy deadlines. Transfer can be made to any scheduled tour with available space. Our normal cancellation policy is in place for all other transfer requests.

    *Journeys by VDB reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a tour participant should such person’s behavior, health, or mental condition impede the operation of the trip.

    *Journeys by VDB reserves the option to modify trip itineraries at the discretion of your tour director as necessary due to weather, conditions, illness, injury, group dynamics, safety, or other unforeseen incidents.

    Your responsibility to arrange air travel and transportation to and from home, airline reservations are not included in the cost of your Journeys by VDB trip. You are responsible to arrange air travel and your transportation from home or other location where your travel originates and to your home or other location where your travel ends. Journeys by VDB shall not be responsible for air or ground schedule changes.

  • We require a minimum of four (4) Travelers for this trip. Please confirm your trip is guaranteed before booking airfare.

    IMPORTANT: Six month validity passport rule. As a general rule, passports should have at least six (6) months of validity when traveling internationally. Most countries will not permit travelers to enter their country unless the passport is set to expire at least six (6) months after the final day of travel. Please also ensure you have at least one (1) blank visa page available in your passport.

    We Love Walking: We strive to experience the local areas we are visiting and a big part of this is walking around the destination.

    Many of our activities include a lot walking throughout the duration of the activity as well as walking to and from activities or meals. If you are not able to walk long periods of time, please reach out to one of our experts to see if this trip is right for you.

    Your trip begins and ends in Athens, Greece.

    Arrival Day: Please schedule to arrive at the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport by 1pm local time.

    Departure Day: There will be two (2) scheduled transfers from from the hotel to the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport prior to your departure.
